Scripture
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
“How sweet are your words to my taste,
sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103)
For some the Bible is primarily an endless lists of “does” and “don’ts,” and examples of what happens when you obey and are blessed and disobey and are cursed. The true message of the Bible is far from this false idea of a performance centered worship. Does it have instructions and commands? Yes, but the focus is not the rules but the love that wrote them. At the center of the Bible from the first page in Genesis and the last page in Revelation, is a story about a God who created and loves His children and has made a way for them to be in a living relationship with Him (for an overview click on this link). It is a story of a broken and rebellious people that are never abandoned by their God, and are set free from sin and death by His sacrifice of Himself on the Cross. It is a story of mercy and love, and the best thing is it is true. Below are a few links to help with reading the Scriptures and studying them as you learn more about the amazing love of God.
